During the session, you’ll get a chance to share about what’s going on and why you’re seeking counseling. Together, we’ll decide how often we will meet and create a plan for your treatment going forward.
Yes! Therapy is always confidential with just a few exceptions. For yours and others’ safety, I’m required by Texas law and counseling ethics as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to notify authorities if I believe you’re at risk of harming yourself or someone else or I suspect abuse or neglect of a child or a person who is elderly or disabled.
The primary method of therapy that we use is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We are aware that what works for one may not work for another. So we tailor therapetic techniques to fit client needs. Some other therapeutic approaches are: Person Center Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and the Gottman method.
It depends on factors such as the type of problem a couple or individual client is seeking treatment for. The therapeutic process is unique to each individual and may change depending of the progress of the client.
At this time MH Counseling PLLC is accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Humana.
